There's an analog horror of Batman now, and it's as dumb as you think it is.

Long story short, Batman's evil, slaughters criminals, and kidnaps children to be sidekicks. The end.

At best, it reminds me of an old comic concept I had where the Marvel Universe is portrayed as a world that's "haunted" with people in a bar discussing mulitple Marvel heroes and villains as kinds of monsters or cryptids (with it being ambiguous if that's really the case or not). Stuff like one of the barflies mentioning a creepy spider saving them from a green laughing imp thing, sightings of a green giant in the deserts smashing Government property, rumors that an old war hero descended from Heaven to hunt down a skull-faced Nazi that rose from Hell, talk of a school at the edge of town housing all sorts of odd people with genetic abnormalities, and rumors of a missing crew of astronauts that became monster vigilantes.

...the punchline being that we see Ghost Rider and Man-Thing at the bar, and the paranoid customers there treat the two monster-heroes like normal people in comparison.
